State Politician Condemns ABC Bias

Leader of the Legalise Cannabis WA Party, Hon. Dr Brian Walker MLC, has today condemned the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) for showing what he described as “a wholly unacceptable political bias” in the run up to the State election on 8 March.

ABC Perth Radio’s Mornings Election Special: Ask the Leaders is scheduled to be aired live tomorrow morning, Wednesday 12 February, from the WA Museum Boola Barip, and will feature every party leader from the WA Parliament except Dr Walker, who has not been invited to attend, in spite of numerous emails to the ABC calling upon them to show a suitable level of impartiality.

“The ABC’s clear bias against the Legalise Cannabis Party and movement is so blatant, that we have gone so far as to seek senior legal advice in recent days,” Dr Walker confirmed.

Dr Walker will make a public statement from the steps of the WA Museum at 0800 tomorrow morning, before the radio show commences, and will be available to answer questions from all media outlets other than the ABC.

“This should be a concern to every right-minded voter in our state,” he stressed ahead of the event.  “They are violating our rights now, and in so doing they are violating yours as well.”
